Explore your true, spiritual nature?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I was drawn to yoga to quiet my mind at first \u2014 since then I wanted to be more fit and flexible \u2014 I also wanted show my teenagers to be physically active by example<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-179\" src=\"http:\/\/12yogaquestions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/chadwick-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/>How about now: does yoga feed your mind or your body or your spirit more, or are those elements more in balance than when you started?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>yoga feeds my mind and body mostly \u2014 it puts me at peace<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>How long have you been practicing yoga?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I started on a limited basis in 2019 \u2014 in January 2022 I realized that I was getting the results I wanted so I started doing yoga mostly every day for at least an hour \u2014 sometimes I practice up to 3 hours<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>How frequently do you practice yoga?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I practice about 95% of my days<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>For you, what are the benefits of classes at a studio vs practicing yoga at home?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I like attending classes for the structure and social interactions \u2014 if no classes are available I practice at home<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Do you have a preferred yoga style?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I prefer ashtanga and vinyasa<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>When you were starting out, what came easiest and what was more challenging?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I had difficulty with balance and blocking out distractions (monkey mind) \u2014 balancing poses were difficult and I wanted to be able to do them quickly but I realized I would achieve the level I wanted only with practice and persistence<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>What have been the greatest benefits of yoga for you?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>the physical aspect has been the biggest benefit for me \u2014 through yoga with a general lifestyle change, I lost about 50 pounds \u2014 it increased my energy level, balance and overall health<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Apart from yoga, do you practice other techniques of mindfulness or meditation?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>no, I don\u2019t meditate outside of class<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Do you regularly do other forms of exercise?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>biking, hiking, stand up paddleboarding<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Outside of a yoga session, do you ever just strike a pose and stretch?
